Job summary

Beach Park School District #3 is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and student services. The role involves helping teachers plan activities, maintaining a safe and clean learning environment, and providing direct assistance to students, including those with special needs, within a supervised setting.

No prior experience is required, but working with students is beneficial. A paraprofessional license is mandatory, and basic computer skills are expected for day-to-day

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Paraprofessional License is required.
• Experience with students is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to work well with children and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in planning and maintaining a safe, clean learning environment.
• Assist with activities and materials preparation and planning.
• Enforce policies and supervise students as directed by the teacher.
• Provide RTI instructional support and small-group assistance.
• Present material under the direction of teachers and observe progress.
• Provide behavior support and communicate changes in student behavior.
• Assist with reading, writing and math interventions as scripted.
• Perform duties outside the classroom as needed and maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in staff development and serve on committees.
