Job summary

Beach Park School District #3 is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant for 7th Grade Special Education. The role supports the classroom teacher in creating a safe and engaging learning environment and helps deliver instructional activities to students with diverse needs.

The position emphasizes collaboration with teachers, adherence to behavior support plans, and supportive services to students, including those with exceptional needs and non-English-speaking backgrounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Paraprofessional License required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and basic computer knowledge.
• Experience working with students beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in planning and maintaining a safe learning environment and in ensuring the well-being and safety of the children in their care.
• Provide instructional support to students individually or in small groups.
• Observe and record student progress and input behavioral data for PBIS.
• Assist with classroom duties and supervise students during transitions and lunch.
• Support students with special needs and non-English-speaking students.
