Job summary

Springville Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska seeks a part-time Instructional Paraprofessional for the 2nd semester starting January 2027. The role supports teachers, assists with classroom activities, and helps monitor student progress. This temporary position requires the ability to work with diverse students and maintain student confidentiality.

Position offers 5.50 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 10 months non-exempt. Salary is set per negotiated schedules and the OPS agreement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours, or demonstrated proficiency to assist instruction in reading, writing and math.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, balance, stoop, climb stairs and reach overhead.

Responsibilities

• Work with students or small groups to reinforce concepts taught by certified staff.
• Model appropriate student behavior and maintain professional rapport with teachers.
• Assist students at arrival and dismissal and during lunch/recess supervision.
• Support grading and reviewing homework as instructed by teachers.
• Assist in monitoring, data collection, and maintaining records of student progress.
• Organize materials and schedules; use educational technology with students.
