Bowie State University is seeking an AV & Desktop Support Specialist (Contingent II) to provide front-line and escalated support for classroom and campus events. The role covers audiovisual systems, collaboration tools, and Windows/macOS endpoints while coordinating with multiple IT teams.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in desktop support and AV classroom experience, strong customer service, and the ability to work in a dynamic university environment, including after-hours events.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in desktop/end-user support
• 2 years supporting AV or classroom technology
• Experience with Windows 11 and macOS
• Experience supporting collaboration tools (Teams/Zoom)

Responsabilités

• Provide rapid support for classrooms and event spaces, addressing AV and room tech
• Perform AV checks, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs; coordinate vendors for advanced issues
• Support hybrid events, trainings, and temporary AV setups
• Respond to support requests, diagnose malfunctions, document resolutions and inventory
• Collaborate with Tier 3 teams to resolve complex issues and improve stability
• On-call or after-hours support for classroom uptime and major events
