Job summary

Lift Kingswood is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to support learning when teachers are away, creating a calm space and helping students stay focused. You will be a trusted presence across all subjects and contribute to students’ progress every day.

Applicants do not need to be qualified teachers but should have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or above, with A levels or a degree preferred. Strong communication and classroom management skills are essential, as is a commitment to

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade 4 or above.
A levels or a degree are welcomed.
Experience with young people in school or youth settings is a plus.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to relate to young people.

Responsibilities

Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across the school in the absence of the teacher.
Ensure students remain on task and follow the school's behaviour expectations.
Manage the classroom environment to support positive behaviour and effective learning.
Provide feedback to the relevant teacher about lesson progress, behaviour, or issues arising.
Supervise students during non-class time when required (e.g., registration, breaks, exams).
Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students.
Assist with administrative tasks or learning support activities when cover is not required.
