Job summary

University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth is hiring an Education Tech Support Specialist to ensure smooth AV/IT services in classrooms and during events. You will handle day-to-day support, respond to inquiries by phone or email, and work with faculty, staff, and students to resolve technology issues.

You will set up equipment for classes, assist during events, and maintain inventory while providing training on classroom technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to assimilate, retain, and utilize technical information.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to work with considerable independence and initiative.
• Proficiency in supporting Mac OS X, Windows, iOS and Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of audiovisual technologies, televisions, projectors and sound systems.
• Technical skills in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining classroom technology.
• Capability to provide immediate technical support in classrooms during lessons.

Responsibilities

• Set up and strike equipment for classes, meetings and other events on campus.
• Answer phones and email to the CETS department mailbox in a timely manner.
• Assist in-person customers with campus technology questions or requests for equipment.
• Provide technical support during events if requested.
• Assist the Room Scheduling Office with corrections to requests.
• Input Facilities work requests for non-technology related equipment issues.
• Maintain current list of CETS inventory in classrooms and storage areas.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and cables, replace batteries as needed.
• Operate cameras or production switch board during live streaming events.
• Input tickets into Service Now after service completion.
• Assist faculty, staff and students with basic AV training.
