Job summary

YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a Teacher’s Aide to support the Head Teacher in delivering daily activities for children in a safe, inclusive setting. You will engage with diverse groups, reinforce YMCA values, and assist with supervision and program quality.

The role requires at least 16 years old, prior child experience, and the ability to obtain CT Child Care and CPR certifications within 90 days. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Able to obtain CT Child Care certification and CPR within 90 days.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Positive, respectful interaction with children and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Teacher in preparation and delivery of daily activities.
• Participate with children in activities and playtimes.
• Maintain clean-up and maintenance of toys and materials.
• Communicate problems to supervisor immediately.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Attend required training hours per year as approved.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, children and staff.
• All duties as assigned.
