Job summary

The University of Illinois seeks a Class Schedule Coordinator in the Office of the Registrar to oversee the Catalog Management and Section Scheduling unit across campus. You will train departmental schedulers, assign classrooms, and manage day-to-day section setup issues.

Responsibilities include coordinating section creation for 120+ departments, overseeing online schedules, and testing scheduling tools during upgrades, while ensuring compliance with campus policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to coordinate complex scheduling across many departments.
• Strong communication with schedulers, instructors, and administrators.
• Experience training staff or students in scheduling processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate department section creation and advise 120+ departments on section set-up best practices.
• Include proper schedule types/grade modes, restrictions, seating, and instructor assignments.
• Oversee online class schedule production in Banner Self-Service and Course Explorer.
• Serve as primary contact for scheduling and facility management with department schedulers and instructors.
• Analyze section/course information to reduce registration, grading, and billing issues.
• Assist Associate Registrar with term roll and archiving in Banner, Ad Astra, and Course Explorer.
• Assist in final exam set-up and scheduling.
• Provide Banner training to new department schedulers as needed.
• Coordinate and distribute incoming work evenly within the unit.
• Test Banner, Ad Astra, and Course Scheduler during upgrades and report feedback.
• Enforce campus policies on scheduling, room capacities, and codes; develop training materials.
