Job summary

Horizon Distributors, Inc., a Horizon/POOLCORP subsidiary, seeks a Delivery Driver to perform safe, on-time yard and customer deliveries. You will represent the company on-site and with customers, ensuring accurate documentation and payments at delivery.

You will operate a 24’ flatbed truck, maintain vehicle safety, and contribute to excellent customer service while adhering to FMCSR and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate up to a 26,000 GVW straight 24’ flatbed truck.
• MVR and PSP check showing no more than 2 violations or at-fault incidents in 3 years.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
• Aptitude to learn evolving computer systems and handheld tech.
• Strong customer service attitude and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Make deliveries using the most efficient route to ensure on-time delivery.
• Load and unload the vehicle, securing all products.
• Collect payments and document deliveries accurately.
• Maintain compliance with FMCSR and other regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable daily.
• Assist with housekeeping to maintain a safe sales center.
• Expand product knowledge and stay updated on offerings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Collect payments and accurately document delivery.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR)).
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and inform supervisor of any maintenance needed.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and presentable on a daily basis.
• Assist with housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe and secure sales center.
• Increase job and product knowledge on an ongoing basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license and ability to operate up to a 26000GVW straight 24’ flatbed truck.
• A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) indicating no more than 2 combined violations or at fault accidents in the past 3 years.
• Ability to frequently lift and move items that weigh up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
• Aptitude to learn ever-evolving computer systems, programs, handheld technology and processes.
• Ability to observe surroundings for information and recognize potential problems.
• Maintains composure in a fast-paced environment focused on serving business owners with urgent needs.
• A cooperative, dependable team player.
• Strong customer service attitude.
• Keen awareness of how actions behind-the-scenes can impact customer service.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Follows and carries out instructions with minimal supervision.
• Possess or obtain forklift certification.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Preferred

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
