Job summary

Magna International Inc. is seeking an experienced QA Auditor for our Cosma group in the U.S. automotive manufacturing environment. The role focuses on cosmetic, functional testing and dimensional inspections to uphold quality standards.

You will work with cross-functional teams, apply GD&T and SPC concepts, and communicate findings both in writing and verbally. Travel for training and site visits is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required with 1 year QA-Auditor experience.
  • Proven track record in cosmetic, functional testing and dimensional inspections.
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Quality auditing experience in automotive manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Class “A” surface experience
  • Hi-light experience
  • Stoning experience
  • Able to “feel” for surface defects
  • Metal finish experience
  • Confidence to make decision on findings and support decision with evidence
  • Understand thinning analysis reports
  • Good written communication skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of stamping process
  • Ability to travel for training and work
  • Understand Customer standards
  • Able to predict effect of defect after paint
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Some of the physical demands for this position include being able to lift up to a weight of 40 pounds and the ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED

Some of the equipment and tools used are a computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, and fax machine, PPE and an assortment of metrology tools.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED required; with a minimum of 1 year as QA-Auditor, and have proven track record in cosmetic, functional testing and dimensional inspections.

TECHNICAL TRAINING

GD& T, Weld Standards, Manufacturing Practices, SPC

OTHER
  • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools including tape measures, scales, Vernier calipers, etc.
  • Metal Finish experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Express.
  • PDCA/8D/5 why knowledge a plus.
WORK EXPERIENCE

Quality auditing experience in the automotive manufacturing environment
