Magna International (Cosma) seeks an experienced Quality Engineer to strengthen our quality management and supplier processes on the shop floor and in engineering collaborations. You will apply APQP methods and lead continuous improvement across manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s in a technical field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years in a Quality Engineer role.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Cosma Casting processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of customer and ISO/TS 16949 requirements.
  • Knowledge of automotive fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Work well with others; maintain positive employee relations.
  • Apply quality assurance practices including statistical process control, blueprint reading, GD&T, measuring devices, and inspection fixtures.
  • Prepare, read, write, and interpret reports, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Present information clearly to management, associates, suppliers and customers.
  • Organize, schedule, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Be available for overtime when needed.
  • Use computer software as required.
  • Read written instructions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Able to work well with others; maintain positive employee relations
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance practices and procedures including statistical process control, blueprint reading, GD&T, use of measuring devices, checking aids / fixtures, computer applications, mechanical testing, customer and ISO/TS 16949 requirements
  • Able to prepare, read, write, and interpret written reports, procedures, instructions and guidelines
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, associates, suppliers and customers
  • Able to organize, schedule, and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Able to work flexible and additional hours
  • Able to use computer and software as required
  • Must be able to understand written instructions
Education and Experience
