Truss Craft of Kansas, a Mead Lumber Company, is hiring a Class A Driver to safely transport roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and building components to job sites. You will load, secure, and unload shipments while maintaining high safety and service standards.

Role emphasizes professionalism, accuracy, and timely deliveries, with ESOP participation and competitive benefits. Strong communication with yard managers and customers is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to learn company products, procedures, and customer service philosophy.
• Respond to issues quickly and professionally.
• Capable of standing and walking for long shifts daily.
• Proficient with basic computer use and calculations.
• Valid Class A license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company delivery trucks and transport roof trusses and other components.
• Load trucks according to invoices and secure loads for transport.
• Deliver and unload materials at customer sites and obtain proof of delivery.
• Follow safety rules, inspect vehicle, and report issues.
• Provide excellent customer service and address complaints professionally.
• Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
• Maintain yard organization and assist with related duties.

Job Summary: The Class A Driver plays a key role in the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and other building components to customer job sites. This position safely operates company vehicles, secures and transports loads, and assists with unloading materials while ensuring products are delivered accurately and without damage. The Class A Driver provides excellent customer service and maintains a high level of professionalism and safety while representing the company at customer locations and job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and understand company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Load trucks according to the sales invoice and list of materials.
• Organize and secure loads to ensure safe and efficient transport.
• Verify accuracy of loads with the yard manager before departure.
• Deliver and unload materials at customer job sites, ensuring satisfaction.
• Follow delivery instructions and ensure timely deliveries.
• Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Record delivery information on the sales invoice and communicate customer messages from the job site.
• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company trucks, trailer-mounted forklifts, and other specialized equipment, including transporting oversized loads and wearing seat belts at all times.
• Adhere to yard loading and security procedures.
• Accurately process merchandise returns with a credit memo.
• Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned yard and areas.
• Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to respond to issues quickly and handle them in a calm, accurate, and professional manner.
• Ability to stand and walk for 4 to 10 hours daily.
• Proficiency in using a computer and calculator.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A driver\'s license and a clean driving record.
• Physical strength to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
