Job summary

Truss Craft of Montana in Billings, MT is seeking a delivery driver to safely and accurately deliver roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and other building materials to customer sites. You will secure loads, operate delivery equipment, and verify loads with the yard manager before leaving.

Key duties include on-time deliveries, DOT compliance, loading/unloading, daily recordkeeping, and providing professional customer service while staying mindful of safety and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Manual transmission experience required.
• Experience operating a Moffett forklift preferred.
• Experience backing trailers safely in varied environments.
• Ability to navigate construction sites and job locations safely.
• Ability to operate a computer and calculator.
• Able to stand/walk 4–10 hours and lift up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Load trucks according to the sales invoice and materials list.
• Organize and secure loads to ensure safe transport.

• Obey traffic laws and safety regulations while operating trucks and forklifts.
• Adhere to loading and security procedures.
• Process merchandise returns with a credit memo.
• Address and resolve customer complaints promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in yard areas.

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and other building materials to customer job sites. Responsibilities include securing and inspecting loads, operating delivery equipment, unloading materials safely and accurately, ensuring on-time deliveries, and following all DOT regulations.

Pay for this Role: $25.00 -$28.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and understand company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.

• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company trucks and forklifts, including wearing seat belts at all times.
• Adhere to yard loading and security procedures.
• Accurately process merchandise returns with a credit memo.
• Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned yard and areas.
• Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Manual transmission experience required.
• Experience operating a Moffett forklift preferred.
• Experience backing trailers safely in a variety of environments.
• Ability to navigate construction sites and job locations safely.
• Ability to operate a computer and calculator.
• Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to respond to issues quickly and handle them in a calm, accurate, and professional manner.
• Ability to stand and walk for 4-10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and climb as needed.
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment.
• Ability to operate in interstate commerce and travel across state lines as needed.
