Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Utility Driver with a valid Class A CDL to service customer routes, haul waste or recycling, and operate various trucks. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and ensure safe, compliant operations on every run.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of CDL driving experience, read maps, and communicate effectively with customers. This role requires occasional nights and weekends, outdoor work in changing conditions, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years CDL truck driving experience.
• Must hold a valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card.
• Must be able to read and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide trash or recycling removal services to customers, in a safe and compliant way, by emptying trash/recycling containers into truck and hauling to disposal site
• Operate various types of trucks and/or complete various routes
• Routinely enter/exit the truck approximately 300-500 times per day, depending on the assigned route
• Pick up missed stops and/or routes as needed
• Deliver trash/recycling containers as needed
• Replace trash/recycling containers neatly at the curb or designated area
• Clean up waste spills and overflows
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body and ensure cleanliness of truck cab
• Maintain and update route & driver log sheets
• Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service
• Perform other duties as assigned
