Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services in Georgia is seeking a Class A Long-Haul Driver to service LQ and SQ accounts and ensure safe, compliant transport of medical waste. The role supports same-day servicing with no sleepover routes and emphasizes excellent customer service and accurate documentation.

Applicants should have a CDL-A, at least 2 years of tractor-trailer experience, and familiarity with Dry Van 53’ trailers, Roll-Offs, Jockey trucks, manual transmissions, and reefers.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years tractor trailer driving experience.
• Experience with Dry Van 53’ trailers, Roll-Offs, Jockey trucks, manual transmissions, and refrigerated trailers (Reefer).
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 300 pounds with assistance; able to exert up to 150 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine preventative maintenance across assigned facilities.
• Transport regulated medical waste safely per regulations.
• Manage LQ and SQ routes for timely service.
• Review daily schedules using manifests and route sheets.
• Ensure waste is properly packaged for transport.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate issues promptly.
• Complete route paperwork and DOT logs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Communicate route changes to ensure coverage.
• Operate Dry Van 53’ trailers, Roll-Offs, Jockey trucks, and Reefer units.
• Use ELD systems for accurate reporting and compliance.
