Job summary

Russel Metals is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to transport materials and operate company vehicles safely to meet customer delivery requirements. The role requires a minimum of two years of CDL flat-bed hauling experience, a valid Class A CDL with clean MVR/PSP, and solid English reading/writing skills.

You will perform thorough pre/post-trip inspections, secure loads, and interact with customers to ensure accurate material counts and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience operating CDL flat-bed hauling.
• Valid Class A CDL with clean MVR and PSP.
• Basic reading and writing in English.
• Thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Ability to read measuring devices.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and coordination.
• Assist customers in identifying materials for unloading at delivery.
• Verify material and piece count at delivery and sign BOL with date.
• Complete Accident Kit documentation with photos if involved in an accident.
• Strong communication, listening, and respectful workplace conduct.
• Excellent time management and punctuality.
• Team player who supports coworkers and group goals.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and DOT rules.
• Secure materials for transport and ensure correct loading.
• Check load and ensure all materials are on the truck.
• Perform necessary truck/trailer maintenance before departure.
• Operate vehicle safely per local rules.
• Maintain electronic logs as required.
• Interact professionally with customers and coordinate with Shipping/Transportation.
• Maintain professionalism and punctuality.
