Job summary

Russel Metals is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to transport materials and operate company vehicles in compliance with DOT rules. The role requires securing loads, maintaining records, and coordinating with the Transportation/Shipping department to ensure on-time deliveries.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, punctuality, and professional customer interactions while upholding company policies and presenting a professional image at all times.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience operating CDL flat-bed hauling.
• Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License with clean MVR and PSP record.
• Ability to read and write basic English; read instructions, tickets, safety manuals.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials and safely operate company-provided vehicle to meet delivery requirements.
• Strap, chain and secure materials for safe transport to delivery points.
• Check loads and ensure all materials are on the truck prior to departure; verify counts at delivery with customers.
• Maintain logs per DOT and company policy; operate electronic devices professionally.
• Coordinate with Transportation/Shipping to handle delays, returns, or questions about deliveries.
• Demonstrate professional presentation and interaction with customers; support team objectives.
• Complete accident documents with photos if involved; communicate clearly and follow directions.
