Job summary

Russel Metals is seeking an experienced truck driver to operate a Conestoga flatbed and ensure timely, safe deliveries. You will tarp, load, and unload freight across routes while following DOT regulations and safety policies.

Candidates should hold a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and have proven truck driving experience. Flatbed familiarity is a plus; forklift experience is advantageous. Home nightly and a weekday schedule are offered with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Proven truck driving experience on routes and freight delivery.
• Familiarity with transporting flatbeds is a plus.
• Experience in load/unload operations and forklift usage is advantageous.
• Ability to manage long hours on the road while maintaining safety and professionalism.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and haul a Conestoga flatbed.
• Tarp loads as required by customer or weather conditions.
• Load and unload freight safely at various locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety and DOT compliance.
• Maintain logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and freight records.
• Follow all DOT regulations and safety policies.
• Follow route schedules precisely for on-time deliveries while maintaining safety.
• Handle forklifts when necessary for loading/unloading cargo.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients about schedules or issues encountered.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety policies during operations.
