Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Rome, NY is seeking a full-time Driver to deliver building materials to dealers, distribution centers and construction sites. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, clean driving record and will include pre/post-trip inspections and load securement.

You will operate a tractor-trailer, perform DOT-compliant duties, and may work Saturdays based on business needs. Competitive pay and benefits follow.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• 2 years commercial truck driving experience (DD214 acceptable).
• Clean driving record.
• Willing to tarp using Conestoga XP Roll Tarp Systems and strap flatbed loads.
• Operate trailer mounted forklift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Multi-drop delivery experience a plus.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Ability to plan and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions.

• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
• Load and unload truck using a Manitou or Moffett

• Follow all safety procedures for transporting goods
• Occasional Weekend work
• Other duties as assigned

Base Pay Rate $37.00 per hour

Bonus $8,000

Shift: Day Shift, Full Time, Monday through Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. This is a hands-on delivery driving position and will be OTR during the week and some Saturdays may be required based on business needs.

• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment

• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
