A leading specialty insurance organization is looking for an experienced Claims Specialist to manage a diverse portfolio of Technology Errors & Omissions (E&O) and Media Liability claims. This position will have ownership of claims from initial assignment through resolution, requiring strong investigative judgment, technical claims expertise, and the ability to work effectively with insureds, brokers, attorneys, underwriting partners, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a portfolio of primary and excess Technology E&O and Media Liability claims throughout the entire claim lifecycle.
- Investigate coverage, liability, damages, and exposure while developing appropriate strategies for complex or high-severity matters.
- Handle related Specialty claims, which may include first-party Cyber and third-party Privacy and Network Security Liability matters.
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with insureds, brokers, defense counsel, internal stakeholders, and other parties involved in the claim.
- Partner with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and claims leadership to evaluate exposures and develop appropriate resolution strategies.
- Select, direct, and collaborate with defense counsel and other external experts as appropriate.
- Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and other resolution activities while applying sound negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Monitor litigation, regulatory developments, technology trends, and emerging exposures that could influence the claims portfolio.
- Escalate significant developments and provide clear analysis of claim exposure, reserving considerations, and potential resolution strategies.
- Maintain accurate and thorough claim documentation in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure claims are administered consistently with applicable insurance regulations, statutory requirements, and Unfair Claims Practices standards.
- Contribute insights from claims activity to help identify broader industry trends and emerging risk considerations.
- Travel periodically as needed for business meetings, mediations, conferences, or other claim-related activities.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant claims experience involving Technology E&O, Media Liability, Professional Liability, Cyber Liability, or a closely related specialty.
- Candidates with relevant legal experience and a strong understanding of liability claims will also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate and manage claims involving complex coverage, liability, damages, litigation, or contractual issues.
- Experience with Cyber, Privacy, Network Security, Professional Liability, or other specialty commercial claims is highly valued.
- Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred but not required.
- Active claims adjuster licenses are strongly preferred, with the ability and willingness to obtain additional licenses as required.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to effectively manage disputes and settlement discussions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to independently manage multiple claims and competing priorities.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with Claims, Underwriting, Legal, Brokers, Insureds, and external counsel.
- Prior experience mentoring others or taking on informal claims leadership responsibilities is a plus.
- Willingness to travel periodically based on business requirements.
Work Arrangement & Location
We are considering remote candidates; however, those who live within approximately 25 miles of one of these locations will be expected to work a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the office.
