Job summary

Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance in Jefferson City seeks a Claims Specialist (Senior level based on experience) to join our fast-paced Claims Department and handle a high volume of less complex first-party claims.

You will process Fast Track claims, review coverage, gather documentation, determine liability, and issue payments within your authority. You’ll maintain detailed files, assist customers, and contribute to storm response efforts and team training.

Qualifications

• Senior role requires at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

As a Claims Specialist (or Senior Claims Specialist, based on experience), you will play a vital role in our fast-paced Claims Department by handling a high volume of less complex first-party claims. Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing “Fast Track” claims - both initial and supplemental - efficiently and accurately.
• Reviewing coverage, gathering documentation, and determining liability.
• Making timely decisions on covered damages within your authority level.
• Maintaining accurate and well-documented claim files.
• Issuing loss and expense payments through bulk billing systems.
• Managing claims submitted through our Agent One-Shot Claims Program.
• Assisting with customer inquiries and supporting the Active Call Directory (ACD) group.
• Contributing to storm claim response efforts and helping train new team members.

Requirements to Succeed:

Claims Specialist:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong interest in insurance and claims operations.

Senior Claims Specialist:

• Minimum of three years of experience as a Claims Specialist or similar claims handling role.
