Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor a team of senior general liability adjusters, supporting timely and accurate claims evaluation.
  • Lead technical aspects of claims handling, including large loss evaluations, reserve recommendations, and coverage evaluations.
  • Communicate regularly with Claim and Underwriting Managers on key claim metrics and industry trends.
  • Review team’s pending claims, provide guidance, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Contribute to expense management through effective team and vendor oversight.
  • Represent AXIS professionally in the marketplace and support underwriting efforts.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including insureds, brokers, and outside counsel.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, ensuring high customer service standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience managing primary casualty general liability claims nationwide, including specific experience with New York construction, hospitality, real estate, habitational, and product risks.
  • Preferred: experience handling New York Labor Law litigation.
Skills and Attributes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and travel as needed.
  • Licenses as required for adjusters.
  • Strong team leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges vary by location: NJ ($120K - $160K), GA ($115K - $155K), NY ($125K - $165K). Offers are based on experience and location. Additional benefits include competitive incentives, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and more.
