Job summary

Starr Insurance Companies seeks a Claims Manager to oversee aviation liability claims for North America. You will supervise in-house adjusters, outside professionals, and counsel, acting as the primary contact for key client accounts and brokers.

Implement reserving philosophy and manage claim inventories and litigation oversight. The role requires 8–12 years in aviation or premises liability claims, and advanced designations such as AIC, SCLA, or CPCU are preferred.

Qualifications

• BA in Business Administration or equivalent discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8–12 years of progressively more complex aviation or premises liability claim adjusting experience.
• Advanced designation such as AIC, SCLA, or CPCU preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical aspects of aviation liability claims for North America.
• Supervise in‑house adjusting staff, outside independent adjusters, and attorneys.
• Serve as primary contact on key client accounts and for brokers.
• Provide indemnity and expense reserving philosophy for the company.
• Handle an inventory of claims and supervise lawsuits for third-party litigation.
• Conduct limited file reviews.
• Bill time on billable files.
• Assist with marketing presentations for new business and client retention.
