Selective Insurance Company of America in Charlotte, NC is launching its Ignite Internship program for Summer 2027. This 11-week, full-time internship offers exposure to the Workers' Compensation and Customer Experience teams, with on-the-job assignments and leadership exposure.

As a Claims Intern you’ll build business acumen by evaluating and processing claims, shadowing adjusters, and supporting continuous improvement projects. The role is hybrid, requiring commuting distance to Charlotte.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and work with adjusters to perform administrative duties including issuing payments and completing administrative tasks.
• Participate in special projects such as continuous improvement strategies.
• Support Claims professionals with large account management.
• Assist in automating the department’s weekly scorecard, keeping track of our KPIs, helping to track results and report them out to various teams.
