We’re looking for an Auto Claims Adjuster - Total Loss who is excited about a unique opportunity to help build modern commercial insurance from the ground up!
In this role, you will play a critical role in driving Vega’s world-class claims organization by handling complex total loss decisions, conducting vehicle valuations, and managing the end-to-end total loss claim settlement process for our insureds and claimants.
We’re a distributed team with offices located in New York, NY and Atlanta, GA. This role is a hybrid position based out of our Atlanta office.
Manage Total Loss Settlements: Own the evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of total loss auto claims, ensuring accurate ACV (Actual Cash Value) determinations and timely settlements.
Valuation & Salvage Operations: Review vehicle appraisal reports, assess salvage values, calculate net payouts, and coordinate directly with salvage vendors to manage vehicle titling, towing, and disposition.
Provide Expert Claims Guidance: Serve as the primary point of contact for insureds, claimants, and lienholders, offering empathetic, clear updates on vehicle valuations, lien payoffs, and settlement documentation.
Document & Title Processing: Guide customers through the total loss administrative workflow, including power of attorney forms, title transfers, owner-retained salvage options, and state regulatory compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with primary claims adjusters, legal teams, and external vendor partners to streamline the total loss pipeline and improve overall claims cycle time.
2+ years of experience in auto claims adjusting with direct experience handling auto total loss evaluations, title processing, and salvage administration.
Active Adjuster License preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
Strong background in Commercial Auto Insurance or Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
Proficiency with CCC ONE, Mitchell, Audatex, or similar vehicle valuation and estimating platforms.
Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Initial coverage needed from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST, subject to change depending on business needs.
