Job summary

Coda Search│Staffing in Newark, NJ seeks a full-time Case Manager to handle all phases of injury claims in the Case Management department. You will interview claimants, review records, and coordinate with teams to move cases forward on-site.

Responsibilities include pre-litigation tasks, record retrieval, medical record review, and maintaining current case notes. Expect a Monday–Friday 9am–6pm schedule with five hours of pre-approved OT weekly in a professional, collaborative office environment.

Qualifications

• AA Degree and a year or more experience in Personal Injury, MedMal or Insurance Defense legal practice.
• Quick learner capable of grasping concepts and applying them to similar projects.
• Empathetic with strong communication skills and attentive listener.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow established procedures.
• Self-motivated and highly organized to keep claimants informed and cases moving.
• Skilled in data entry with various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews and follow-ups with claimants or their representatives in personal injury contexts.
• Perform pre-litigation investigations, discovery tasks, record reviews, drafting correspondence, and updates.
• Coordinate retrieval of claimant records and review medical records per bookmarking procedures.
• Act as point of contact for claimants and provide case updates.
• Interpret and disseminate information about claims to supervisors.
• Handle scheduling, calendars, and maintain up-to-date case notes.

Job description

The position is part of the Case Management department working on all phases of injury claims. This is a full-time, permanent position.

• Has an AA Degree and a year or more experience working in a Personal Injury, MedMal or Insurance Defense legal practice
• Quick learner, someone that can grasp concepts and apply them to similar projects
• Is empathetic, great listener, patient, and possesses strong communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct interviews and follow-ups with claimants or their representative who are victims of defective drugs or devices, environmental contamination, or have a general personal injury claim
• Conducts pre-litigation investigations, aspects of discovery work, reviewing records, drafting correspondence, analytical work, and updates, follows and guides claimant through the pre-litigation process
• Coordinating and following up on the retrieval of claimant's records.
• Review medical records, annotating records following our robust bookmarking procedures
• Point of contact for your claimants, providing updates to their claim
• Interprets and disseminates information concerning claims and casework to supervisors
• Undertake a variety of administrative duties such as scheduling claimant appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining up-to-date case notes

Other Details:

• Job is Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm
• Due to the confidential legal nature of the matters, job will be performed on-site.
• Five hours of pre-approved OT are available weekly
