Job summary

Certum Legal Solutions (CLS) seeks a Claim Investigator to support the Case Management team through the pre-litigation claims process. You will work directly with claimants, conduct investigations, review records, maintain case documentation, and guide claimants through their case.

Key duties include interviewing claimants, coordinating records, reviewing medical documents, and serving as a reliable point of contact for updates.

Qualifications

• AA degree required; 1+ year experience in personal injury or related legal practice preferred.
• Must be quick to learn concepts and apply to new projects.
• Strong communication, empathy, listening, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Interview claimants or representatives and coordinate follow-ups.
• Conduct pre-litigation investigations and review records and correspondence.
• Coordinate retrieval of claimant records and annotate medical documents.
• Serve as main point of contact, providing updates to claimants.
• Interpret and disseminate information to supervisors and team.
• Perform administrative duties including scheduling and maintaining case notes.

Certum Legal Solutions (CLS) is a pioneering legal managed services organization (MSO) that supports mass-tort and single-event personal injury law firms. We provide the operational infrastructure, technology, and back-office solutions that allow the firms on our platform to grow and scale while focusing on delivering industry-leading results for their clients.

This role supports the Case Management team throughout the pre-litigation claims process. The Claim Investigator works directly with claimants, conducts investigations, reviews and coordinates records, maintains case documentation, and serves as a key point of contact to guide claimants through their case.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews and follow-ups with claimants or their representative who are victims of defective drugs or devices, environmental contamination, or have a general personal injury claim
• Conducts pre-litigation investigations, aspects of discovery work, reviewing records, drafting correspondence, analytical work, and updates, follows and guides claimant through the pre-litigation process
• Coordinating and following up on the retrieval of claimant’s records.
• Review medical records, annotating records following our robust bookmarking procedures
• Point of contact for your claimants, providing updates to their claim
• Interprets and disseminates information concerning claims and casework to supervisors
• Undertake a variety of administrative duties such as scheduling claimant appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining up-to-date case notes

Qualifications

• Has an AA Degree and a year or more experience working in a Personal Injury, MedMal, or Insurance Defense legal practice
• Quick learner, someone that can grasp concepts and apply them to similar projects
• Is empathetic, great listener, patient, and possesses strong communication skills
• Detailed-oriented and good at following established procedures
• Self-motivated
• Skilled in data entry with various software programs

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Base Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 per year, based on experience and skill set

• Deliverables and bi-weekly performance bonuses (15-45% of Base Salary)
• $3,000/year salary differential for Spanish speakers (Pending assessment)
• Bonus incentive upon completion of a 90-day period

• Full-time, on-site schedule — Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
