Job summary

Whitaker Construction is seeking a Heavy Civil Foreman to ensure safe, productive layout, assembly, and installation of underground utilities and earthwork. You will supervise a crew of 2-5, train employees, and direct work per company policy.

Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and evaluating performance while maintaining OSHA/OQ standards and field quality. Requires CDL and DOT medical card; strong leadership and plan-reading skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training encouraged.
• 3+ years managing large civil engineering projects.
• Class A CDL required; valid Medical Card (DOT).
• Operator Qualifications for Dominion Energy preferred.
• Clean driving record and safe operation of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and quality on site.
• Supervise a team of laborers, operators and subcontractors.
• Read and interpret plans for pipe layouts and installations.
• Ensure OSHA/OQ compliance and enforce safety policy.
• Maintain quality and conformance to specs and codes.
• Inspect ongoing and completed work for progress.
• Plan procedures with project superintendent for pipe installs.
• Operate heavy equipment to install and backfill utilities.
