Job summary

Kennedy Jenks Consultants is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with a structural focus to lead design and consulting for water and wastewater infrastructure across the United States.

The role emphasizes life safety, constructability, and long-term performance of facilities such as pump stations, treatment plants, tanks, and clarifiers. Hybrid work is offered, with two days per week in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural focus, ABET accredited.
• 8+ years of consulting engineering experience in structural design.
• CA PE license required; SE preferred in CA.
• Strong knowledge of codes and standards for buildings, tanks, and infrastructure.
• Experience with 3D/BIM modeling and structural analysis tools.
• Industrial or municipal infrastructure project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design: Develop concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and composite solutions for infrastructure projects of varying size and complexity.
• Prepare design deliverables: Produce structural calculations, drawings, and specifications that support clear, coordinated project delivery.
• Analyze infrastructure systems: Design and evaluate treatment plant buildings, tanks, clarifiers, pump stations, piping support systems, and existing structures for high seismic regions.
• Support construction-phase services: Provide engineering input during construction, including field structural observation and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and construction professionals to solve technical challenges for municipal agencies and industrial facilities.
• Use digital delivery tools: Apply BIM and analysis tools to support coordination, client input, and project visualization from planning through construction.
