Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. is seeking an engineer to perform a range of civil/structural design activities for power plant upgrades or new projects under supervision of senior staff.

The role involves calculations, modifications, and designs to improve plant performance, safety, and reliability. The candidate should have a BS in civil/structural engineering, knowledge of ACI/AISC/ASCE 7, and strong communication and MS Office skills.

Formación

• BS in civil (structural) engineering from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of industry codes ACI, AISC and ASCE 7.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to pass security and drug screening; unescorted nuclear plant access may be required.
• Overtime and travel to client sites are required; field/office work.
• Walk-downs of equipment in industrial plant environments; climb ladders and access restricted areas.

Job Description

Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Successful candidate should have working knowledge of evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria. Individual will assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs. Individual must possess technical knowledge of civil/structural discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assist in evaluating conditions and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Responsibilities

Education Required (minimum): BS in civil (structural) engineering from an accredited engineering program.

Experience Required (minimum): Demonstrated knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC and ASCE 7 is required. Knowledge can be demonstrated through academic record or work experience.

Qualifications

Other Required Qualifications (minimum): All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes. Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required. Overtime work is required at times. Travel is required to client sites with periods of field/office work. Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas is required.
