Job summary

Cal State East Bay seeks a Civil Rights Intake and Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for discrimination reports. You will conduct intake under best practices, uphold CSU policies, and respond with confidentiality and empathy.

You will collaborate with campus partners, ensure safety, and support timely investigations under Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and related policies. You will manage hearings, coordinate notices, and provide guidance on supportive measures while

• Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and CSU policies.
• Excellent writing and research abilities for analytical reports.
• Ability to manage a significant caseload with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complainant outreach within 0-1 business days; interview effectively.
• Explain rights and options to complainants per policy.
• Assess and implement supportive measures for safety and access to education.
• Draft Notices for Investigation or No Investigation within 5 business days.
• Oversee hearing logistics and coordination with parties and witnesses.
• Train intake staff during peak periods.
