Job summary

Cal State East Bay is seeking a Civil Rights Intake and Support Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for discrimination reports. You will conduct intake, assess safety needs, and coordinate supportive measures while maintaining confidentiality and trauma-informed practice.

The role requires strong knowledge of federal/state civil rights laws, excellent writing and interviewing skills, and the ability to manage sensitive investigations with discretion.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of current federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, the ADA, and CSU nondiscrimination policies.
• Excellent writing and research skills with the ability to generate concise analytical reports on sensitive topics.

Responsibilities

• Complainant outreach and intake meetings with prompt, thorough assessments.
• Recommend and implement approved supportive measures prioritizing safety and access.
• Conduct preliminary inquiries analyzing relevant issues and gathering documentation.
• Draft notices for investigation or no investigation for review and timely service.
• Oversee hearing processes, including scheduling, notices, witnesses, and materials.
• Train and provide lead work direction to intake staff during peak periods.
