Job summary

STI, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, is seeking an investigative support specialist to respond to online inquiries, interview complainants, and analyze information to prepare case files for investigations. You will send notices and interrogatories, provide excellent in-person and phone customer service, and contribute to monthly reporting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Indiana Civil Rights Law and Federal Civil Rights Laws.
• Ability to interpret, analyze and apply laws related to discrimination charges.
• Ability to interpret Commission policies and procedures.
• Strong communication and public interaction skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Experience coordinating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to online inquiries regarding filing of complaints.
• Interview potential Complainants.
• Analyze and summarize information from inquiries.
• Prepare investigative work case files.
• Send Notice of Complaints and interrogatories.
• Provide excellent customer service via phone and in person.
• Handle monthly reporting.
• Apply laws to establish jurisdiction over cases.
• Draft motions before the Commission (e.g., dismissals, default orders).
• Research databases for contact info for parties and witnesses.
• Other duties as assigned.
