A nationally recognized engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering to join its growing land development practice in either New York City, White Plains, or Melville.
This position offers the opportunity to lead the design, permitting, project management, and client development efforts for a diverse portfolio of high-profile land development projects. Working alongside established industry leaders and multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, business growth, and client relationship management throughout the New York market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design and permitting of residential, commercial, mixed-use, institutional, industrial, and warehouse/distribution projects for private and public sector clients.
- Lead site/civil engineering efforts from feasibility through construction, including site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
- Collaborate with office leadership to support strategic growth initiatives, client development efforts, and staff utilization.
- Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management design, and SWPPP preparation.
- Coordinate with environmental, geotechnical, survey, transportation, and other multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Mentor junior staff and support technical development within the team.
- Participate in proposal preparation, presentations, and business development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years of progressive site/civil engineering experience focused on land development projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong project management experience on both small and large-scale development projects.
- Extensive experience with site design, grading, drainage, utility infrastructure, stormwater management, and permitting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience managing client relationships and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Active participation in industry organizations and professional associations preferred.
- Strong technical writing, proposal development, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while leading collaborative project teams.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client meetings and project sites as required.
