Job summary

JPCL Engineering in the New York City Metropolitan Area seeks a Civil Engineer/Project Manager for a full‑time, hybrid role. You will participate in planning, design, and analysis of civil infrastructure, including site development, utilities, roadway design, and stormwater management, coordinating with architects and other disciplines.

You’ll review design standards, support permitting processes, and contribute to sustainable, community‑focused design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field required.
  • EIT/FE certification preferred; PE licensure or eligibility is a plus.
  • Experience on infrastructure or land development projects desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and analyze civil infrastructure projects including site development and utilities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects and other disciplines to develop drawings and specs.
  • Attend project meetings and support construction administration to meet schedule and budget.
  • Review design standards and assist in regulatory permitting processes.

Role Description

This is a full‑time Civil Engineer/Project Management role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows for both in‑office and work‑from‑home days. The Civil Engineer will participate in the planning, design, and analysis of civil infrastructure projects, including site development, utilities, roadway design, and stormwater management systems. Day‑to‑day tasks include preparing engineering drawings and specifications, performing calculations, assisting in report writing, and coordinating with project managers, architects, and other disciplines. Our Design Build division is looking for this civil engineer to fulfill a leader role in high level of design and comprehension of a multidisciplinary design firm.

The role involves reviewing design standards and regulations, supporting design projects, solid understanding regulatory permitting processes, and contributing to sustainable, community‑focused design solutions.

The Civil Engineer/Project Manager will also attend project meetings, support construction administration activities, and help ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications
  • Civil Engineering fundamentals: candidates should possess strong skills in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design.
  • Professional practice: candidates should have experience working as Civil Engineers on infrastructure or land development projects minimum 8 years of experience.
  • Planning and analysis: candidates should possess skills in Planning for civil projects, including site layout and infrastructure coordination.
  • Water resources: candidates should possess skills in Stormwater Management, including drainage design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; EIT/FE certification preferred and PE licensure or eligibility a plus.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar), and familiarity with local and state codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients and stakeholders.
