Job summary

Venteon is seeking a Civil Project Manager for a Metro Detroit, Michigan company. The role is direct-hire, in-office with no travel, focusing on diverse civil projects in industrial, automotive, and higher education sectors.

You will prepare cost estimates, interpret plans and geotechnical data for takeoffs, and lead bid and scheduling efforts while ensuring safety and client satisfaction on all projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years as Civil Engineer or PM.
• Experience with earthwork, utilities, and site development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects (earthwork, utilities, concrete, site development, road work).
• Interpret plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to develop quantity takeoffs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop bid proposals, schedules, and value-engineering options.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions.
• Maintain historical cost data and update estimating tools as needed.
• Accountable for safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and customer satisfaction on assigned projects.
• Establish and oversee the safety plan and enforce a strong safety culture at sites.
• Write and manage contracts with contractors, testing companies, and design professionals.
• Lead project kickoff, planning, and scheduling activities.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

WHAT IS REQUIRED

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Civil Engineer or Project Manager.
• Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with civil engineering, land development, utilities, and/or structures.
• Strong proactive positive attitude with a commitment to safety.
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Project experience in industrial, automotive, or higher education markets.
• Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint.
