Job summary

MPI is seeking a Project Engineer to support site development, roadway, utility, and infrastructure projects across New Jersey. The role provides exposure to project management, field operations, estimating, scheduling, and client coordination, with a goal to grow into a Project Manager role.

The candidate will collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 1-5 years of experience in civil construction, heavy civil, site development, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both in the office and at construction sites as needed.
• EIT certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout all phases of construction.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, owners, and field personnel.
• Track project progress and prepare status reports.
• Monitor project costs and assist with forecasting and purchasing activities.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
• Perform site visits to evaluate progress and address project issues.
• Help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
