Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a motivated Civil Construction Project Engineer in New Jersey to support delivery of heavy civil, site development, infrastructure, and utility projects. You will collaborate with project leadership, field teams, and clients across all project phases.

The role emphasizes coordinating with subcontractors, reviewing plans, managing submittals and change orders, monitoring progress, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 2+ years of civil construction experience (infrastructure, site development, utilities, or heavy highway).
• Strong understanding of drawings, specs, and engineering principles.
• Familiarity with project management processes, scheduling, and cost controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in planning, execution, and delivery of civil construction projects.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to progress work per plan.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence.
• Assist with procurement of materials and equipment.
• Track project progress and prepare regular reports for management.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with specs.
• Support quality control, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
