Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer with an active Florida Professional Engineer license and a strong background in land development. This position will be responsible for designing and supporting infrastructure projects involving roadways, stormwater management, potable water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, drainage, permitting, construction administration, and project closeout.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of civil engineering experience, proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and experience coordinating with clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, and CAD professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer who can produce accurate technical documents and help move land development projects from initial design through construction completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and verify engineering calculations for stormwater management, potable water distribution, and sanitary sewer collection and transmission systems.
  • Design land development infrastructure, including roadways, water distribution, sanitary sewer, and drainage systems.
  • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, drawings, reports, and other technical documents.
  • Prepare and process permit applications through applicable municipal, county, state, and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, CAD drafters, consultants, contractors, and other project disciplines.
  • Review, correct, and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and technical specifications.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings, project meetings, and internal staff meetings.
  • Produce organized, accurate, and high-quality project deliverables.
  • Provide construction inspection and construction administration support.
  • Assist with project certifications, permit closeout, and final agency approvals.
  • Help identify and resolve technical, permitting, and construction-related project issues.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Active Florida Professional Engineer license.
  • At least five years of civil engineering experience focused on land development.
  • Experience designing roadways, stormwater drainage, potable water, and sanitary sewer infrastructure.
  • Experience preparing and processing permits through applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Strong technical documentation, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, CAD professionals, contractors, and agency representatives.
Software Qualifications
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with ICPR preferred.
  • Experience with ASAD preferred.
Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000–$120,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the position, geographic market, and the selected candidate’s education, training, professional credentials, skills, and relevant experience.
