Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE license with a minimum of 4 years of related experience OR Engineer in Training on track to PE with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Sound mathematical skills are required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Supports project team toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective set of plans and specifications for each project.
• Conducts engineering computations to design difficult and complex engineering projects.
• Communicates with governmental/regulatory staff relative to design concepts and requirements; represents clients at regulatory agency hearings or meetings.
• Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and reports on project status to Project Manager.
• Monitors compliance to applicable codes, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
• Responsible for the design concept of the plans and specifications.
• Consults with field engineers, contractors, and inspectors regarding construction.
• Assists in preparation of project proposals including scope of work, time schedule, and manpower estimates.
• Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise.
