Job summary

Commercial Development Resources in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to support land development projects from concept through construction, coordinating with clients and the project team to turn ambitious plans into workable site designs.

You will prepare grading and drainage plans, manage utility layouts, review zoning and regulatory requirements, supervise junior engineers, and help drive projects toward on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • 4+ years of land development experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCad Civil 3D.
  • Experience with grading, drainage, and utility design for commercial projects.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and codes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare site design plans for commercial land development projects under the direction of a Project Manager.
  • Develop grading plans, drainage calculations, and utility infrastructure designs.
  • Coordinate water, sewer, storm drainage, dry utilities, and related improvements.
  • Review zoning ordinances, development regulations, and agency requirements to identify site development constraints.
  • Conduct due diligence activities, including utility research, regulatory reviews, and site investigations.
  • Prepare conceptual site plans and development layouts based on project objectives.
  • Develop erosion and sediment control plans and supporting calculations.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, and municipalities to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers on project responsibilities and contribute to team success.
