Job summary

A civil engineering firm in Costa Mesa is seeking a Project Assistant to support the Project Manager throughout the land development process. Responsibilities include preparation of engineering plans, coordination with governmental agencies, and ensuring project progress. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in civil engineering and be licensed as a Professional Engineer in California. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in California.
• 2-6 years of experience in land development is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of the land development process.
• Prepare private grading, storm drain, and utility plans.
• Communicate and coordinate with clients and project teams.
• Conceptualize initial civil design approaches for major projects.
• Coordinate project progress with city and state officials.

Job description

Assist the Project Manager in all aspects from the beginning to the end of the land development process. (ie: shopping centers, auto dealerships, gas stations, amusement parks, and QSR development)

Preparation of on-site private grading, storm drain, utility plans, earthwork estimates, and construction quantity estimates

Process plans through respective governmental agencies

Client and project team communication and coordination

Preparation of public street, storm drain, sewer, water street lighting, signing and striping improvement plans

Conceptualizes the initial civil design approach for a major phase of large land/site development, related projects, or has overall responsibility for the civil engineering work on an aforementioned type project of a larger scope

Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates civil engineering work

Assist the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in civil engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California
• Expert in AutoCad / Civil 3D
• Excellent team player
• 2-6 years experience in Land Development
