Job summary

Commercial Development Resources (CDR) is a Costa Mesa-based site development consultancy delivering integrated civil, surveying, utilities, landscape architecture, and permitting services. As a Design Engineer, you’ll develop plans under a Project Manager, work with a cross-disciplinary team, and ensure successful project delivery for notable clients.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree, 3+ years in land development, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with strong communication

Responsibilities

• Prepare grading, drainage, utility, sewer, as-built, and street improvement plans under PM guidance.

Commercial Development Resources (CDR) is a site development consultancy that integrates civil engineering, surveying, dry utilities, landscape architecture, and planning & permitting under one team. Aligned from entitlement through construction, our clients don't manage five consultants. They work with one development partner.

Based in Costa Mesa, California, we serve clients like AutoNation, Merlin Entertainments (LEGOLAND), Lithia Motors, The Irvine Company, Jack in the Box, Habit Burger, Popeyes, and Valar Atomics. Role Description

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing plans under the guidance of a Project Manager. You will work closely with the project team to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background in site/land development, demonstrated experience in project delivery and client management, and interest in a long-term career in site/land development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare grading, storm drain, utility, sewer, as-built, and street improvement plans under direction of Project Manager
• Research, interpret and apply city standards, codes and zoning requirements as it applies to sites
• Communicate with agencies and plan checkers
• Meet project deadlines with a sense of urgency
• Adhere to CDR standards and core values
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong willingness to continually learn and grow

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years in Land Development
• Proficiency in AutoCad Civil 3D
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and codes
• P.E. license is preferred, but not required
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team
