Job summary

IMEG is looking for a Civil Project Designer in Fairfax, VA to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects, collaborating with senior staff and a team of engineers and consultants to deliver high-quality civil engineering analyses, designs, and permit support. The role emphasizes client interaction, budgeting, and cross-team coordination.

You will guide design, prepare drainage and stormwater work, and oversee permit applications across

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required or equivalent
• EIT certification preferred
• 3+ years experience in building design consulting or equivalent
• Experience with Civil 3D or similar tools preferred
• Ability to train and mentor staff and lead project teams
• Strong communication and client interaction skills

Responsibilities

• Direct and train Civil Design Technicians to assist in reports, exhibits, plans, and permit applications
• Lead design of civil site projects using industry-standard software and calculations
• Prepare site drainage, grading, and stormwater design work
• Oversee permit applications with municipalities in coordination with team and clients
• Perform engineering analysis, field inspections, and document project delivery
