Job summary

A dynamic engineering firm in Richmond, VA is seeking a Civil Project Designer to lead design efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The role includes engineering analysis, design inspections, and management of project budgets. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and experience with engineering software. Qualifications

• 3 years of experience minimum required in the building design consulting industry.
• Able to lead teams with industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and design.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and train Civil Design Technicians on project requirements.
• Lead design efforts for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
• Complete permit applications in coordination with the project team.
• Analyze engineering problems and propose solutions.
• Oversee projects through bidding and construction phases.

Skills

Knowledge of industry standard engineering software, primarily Civil 3D

Proficient with pipe networking and road corridors

Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts

Strong technical and analytical skills

Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Education

Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering

Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
