Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our San Diego office in a 100% in-office role. Candidates should have strong civil litigation experience, legal research skills, and a bachelor’s degree with an ABA-approved paralegal certificate.

The position supports attorneys through discovery, trial preparation, and document management. Responsibilities include managing discovery, summarizing records and deposition transcripts, drafting motions, and maintaining precise

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm.
• Civil litigation experience required.
• Familiarity with web-based legal research tools.
• Experience with paperless files; iManage a plus.
• Must pass a background and drug screen.
• Bachelor’s degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate are required.

Aufgaben

• Assist attorneys with civil case preparation through discovery and trial.
• Manage discovery and records, prepare subpoenas, track responses.
• Summarize medical and employment records; create chronologies; summarize discovery responses.
• Review, summarize and synthesize records and data in tort cases, including medical records and depositions.
• Draft motions and oppositions to motions, including discovery motions.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and able to learn document/case management systems.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Record billable time accurately and promptly.
