Job summary

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP in Chicago seeks an experienced paralegal to join our office. This is a 100% in-office position; remote work is not available.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience, a Bachelor's degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate, and strong organization and communication skills.

Duties include assisting attorneys with trial preparation, discovery and records management, and drafting motions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years paralegal experience in civil litigation.
• Bachelor’s degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
• Familiarity with paperless files; iManage a plus.
• Must pass a background/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case for trial.
• Discovery and records management.
• Ability to summarize medical and employment records, create medical chronologies, summarize discovery responses, prepare meet and confer correspondence.
• Motion writing experience, such as oppositions to motions including discovery motions.
• Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail.
