Trueline Talent's client, a boutique law firm in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal with Federal court experience to join the team. The role offers substantive involvement in important cases and direct access to experienced attorneys.

You will support a small litigation team from discovery through trial, manage case files, deadlines, and filings, and coordinate with clients, witnesses, and courts to prepare materials for depositions and hearings.

Qualifications

• Significant paralegal experience supporting complex civil litigation.
• Strong understanding of discovery, court filings, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Ability to independently manage detailed case files, deadlines, and document-heavy matters.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, demanding, deadline-driven cases.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys on a small number of sophisticated, high-stakes civil litigation matters from investigation through resolution or trial.
• Take ownership of case files, deadlines, discovery, document management, filings, and litigation logistics.
• Assist with drafting, organizing, reviewing, and preparing pleadings, discovery materials, exhibits, correspondence, and other case documents.
• Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout the litigation process.
• Prepare attorneys and case materials for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Organize large and complex factual records so attorneys can quickly identify the information that matters.
• Anticipate attorney and case needs rather than waiting to be directed through every step.
• Manage competing priorities when cases become demanding or deadlines converge.
• Bring accuracy, urgency, discretion, and sound judgment to sensitive matters.
• Work closely with a small team where everyone contributes and individual ownership matters.

• Ability to work primarily in the Charlotte office five days per week.

Nice-to-Haves as the Civil Litigation Paralegal:

• Experience with plaintiff-side litigation, civil rights matters, wrongful conviction litigation, police misconduct matters, or other complex individual-focused litigation.
• Experience supporting cases through trial.
• Background working in a boutique litigation firm or other small, highly collaborative legal environment.
• Experience organizing extensive records, investigative materials, discovery, and evidence in fact-intensive cases.
• North Carolina paralegal experience or familiarity with North Carolina courts.
