Job summary

Adams & Martin Group in Belleville, IL is seeking a Personal Injury / Civil Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive litigation support from inception to resolution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a substantial caseload with excellent client service.

Responsibilities include managing files, drafting pleadings, coordinating deadlines, reviewing records, and assisting with settlement negotiations.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation, civil litigation, or a related practice area.
  • Working knowledge of Illinois civil procedure and litigation practices.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Schedule depositions, mediations, court appearances, expert consultations, and client meetings.
  • Assist with discovery management, including document production and organization.
  • Conduct factual investigations and legal research.
  • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, witness files, and demonstrative evidence.
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses, medical providers, insurance carriers, and court personnel.
  • Support attorneys during mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and jury trials.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper case files in compliance with firm protocols.

Position Summary

  • Familiarity with e-filing systems and litigation technology platforms.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical record review.
