The Office of the Attorney General, Financial Recovery Section, seeks an Assistant Attorney General to handle high-volume civil litigation across Virginia. You will draft pleadings and motions, conduct discovery, advise client agencies, and appear in court on motions, trials, and appeals.

Some overnight travel is required and admission to the Virginia State Bar is mandatory. Minimum 1–3 years of practice, strong written and oral communication, and ability to manage a large caseload are essential

Qualificações

• Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience as a practicing attorney.
• Ability to draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda; conduct discovery; advise client agencies and appear in court.
• Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills; manage large diverse caseload under pressure.
• Must possess valid driver's license and be willing to travel (day trips and overnight as needed).
• Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform affirmative civil litigation in courts across Virginia on a high-volume, diverse caseload.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and supporting memoranda; manage discovery.
• Advise client agencies through litigation and appear in court on motions, trials, and appeals.
• Pursue actions to enforce civil judgments and administrative orders; recover fines and penalties.
• Travel as needed for day trips and occasional overnight stays.
